Save VMK Today!
So, it has come to my attention that Virtual Magic Kingdom (VMK) is closing on May 21, 2008. Why? Because "VMK was created and launched as part of a promotion to celebrate Disneyland's 50th Anniversary. In part due to VMK's success, the game/promotion was extended, however the time has come to end the promotion." Now, I can understand that VMK was created only as a promotion for Disney's 50th Anniversary Celebration, but come on. First of all, why would they create a massive online game JUST as a temporary promotion? I mean, if the program was only to be temporary, why even run it? VMKers (including myself) have spent so much time on VMK trying to collect enough credits and rare "stuff." We've made tons and tons of new friends which, if the closing proceeds, most of us won't be able to keep in touch with any longer. Second, it's a temporary promotion, all good, but does it seem logical to simply pull the plug on something that isn't only loved it's players and Disney-fans alike, but has brought tons of Guests to the Disney Parks. There is a quote by Walt Disney that I really liked: "Get a good idea and stay with it. Dog it, and work it until it's done and done right." Take a taste of that VMK Staff, VMK an extremely GREAT idea, so why are we not staying with it? Why aren't we dogging it? Visit SaveVMKToday.com to help STOP the closing of our Virtual Magic Kingdom!
